Jan Kerchner founded The College Blueprint, LLC nearly 20 years ago with a vision and mission to assist students with finding the right collegiate fit. With educational consultants in California, Seattle and Virginia, she and her experienced and well credentialed team have supported thousands of students in achieving their collegiate dreams. In addition to private college counseling, The College Blueprint, LLC also offers Test Prep, Tutoring and Academic Coaching. Jan has evaluated hundreds of university campuses across the country. She and her team have conducted over 600 campus visits and she is frequently sought after to present her insights on the State of College Admissions. Jan consults with private schools and public school districts and teaches a course in counseling students for the University of California, San Diego Extension. She has served on the faculty of the Independent Educational Consultants Association Summer Training Institute, an institute for counselors entering the profession of educational consulting.

With an MBA from Cornell University, B.S. from Penn State, and a College Counseling Certificate from UCLA, Jan is also a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and has achieved the highest professional credential of Certified Educational Planner by the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners. Jan serves on the Philanthropy Council for the College of Health and Human Development at Penn State University and on the Disability Services Advisory Board for Irvine Valley College.

Jan is very active in her community, serving on various Boards for PTAs, Booster Clubs and sports teams. She served as the President of the Irvine Public Schools Foundation and as the President of the Assistance League of Irvine. Jan and her husband, Jim, have three children, are all launched in their professional careers.
