Terry Corwin Founded Lion’s Heart in 2004 and served as the Executive Director from its inception until Summer, 2018. In her role as Executive Director, she was responsible for all major decisions for Lion’s Heart, and reported to the Board of Directors. She also served as a member on the OneOC Nonprofit Advisory Council in Santa Ana, California in 2017.
Terry has held many volunteer positions since retiring from full time work as a commercial property manager after giving birth to her first son. Just a few of the positions she has held are: PTA President, School Site Council Chairman, Attendance Boundary Committee Member, Executive Director and Board Member of Education for the Children Foundation (EFC), Inaugural Board of Governors Member of the Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club, and chairman for several fund raising events.
Terry has been awarded two PTA Honorary Service Awards (2000, 2007), recognized by the Capistrano Unified School District for helping to save the Class Size Reduction program (2003), named the Grand Marshal of the 4th of July parade in Coto de Caza (2009), and was honored along with her husband with the Distinguished Lifetime Advocates award by EFC (2012). National Philanthropy Day of Orange County awarded Lion’s Heart with the Outstanding Youth Group award (2009). Terry was named one of “Twenty Women to Watch” by OC Metro Magazine (2013), appeared on the Katie Couric Show featured in "Women Who Should Be Famous" for her work with Lion's Heart (2013), was presented with The President's Volunteer Service Award for "Lifetime Achievement" (2014), the national Daily Points of Light award (2015).
She is married to Clay Corwin, and they have two sons, Spencer and Garrett (and beloved dog, Baxter).
