Online Orders

When you place an order over our web site, we will ask for your payment method preference, credit card account number, CVN, and expiration date (if applicable), name as it appears on your credit card, "bill to" address, shipping address, daytime phone number, and e-mail address. Some of this information may be stored in the form of a "cookie" in your computer. Cookies are small files that are stored on your computer. Your browser should give you the option to refuse cookies. Lion's Heart web site requires that you have cookies enabled on your browser security settings.

We may use your IP (Internet Protocol) address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site. Your IP address is used to help identify you and your shopping cart and to gather broad demographic information.

Credit Card Safety

Protecting the safety of your credit card information is important to us. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect the security of your credit card information as it is transmitted to us. SSL is the gold standard in Internet encryption technology, which is a fancy way of saying that it's a highly sophisticated method of scrambling data as it travels from your computer to our website's servers.

To make sure you are accessing our secure server before you submit personal financial information, look at the lower left-hand corner of your browser. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending upon your browser), then SSL is active. To double-check for security, look at the URL or Address line of your browser. If you have accessed a secure server, the first characters of the address in that line should change from "http" to "https".

Liability Release

By paying dues to Lion’s Heart and participating any activity associated with Lion’s Heart you are hereby releasing Lion’s Heart and its Chapter Presidents, Class Coordinators, officers, employees, and executives of all liability while performing volunteer work for Lion’s Heart.

Members are expected to act respectfully of others during Lion’s Heart meetings and volunteering. While volunteering or if a Class Coordinator feels a Member is not acting respectfully, Lion's Heart can require a parent to attend the next three meetings and all volunteering activities until the third meeting. If a parent is not in attendance, the Member will not receive credit for attending that meeting or volunteer activity. If the Member continues to act inappropriately after the third meeting or at volunteer activities, the Member will be resigned from Lion’s Heart immediately. It is completely at the discretion of the Class Coordinator and Lion's Heart management to implement this rule.

By paying dues, parents and Members forever release Lion’s Heart, their respective directors, Class Coordinators, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, contractors, and representatives (collectively “Releases”) from any and all actions, claims, or demands that I, my assignees, heirs, guardians, next of kin, spouse and legal representatives now have, or may have in the future, for injury, death, or property damage, related to (i) my participation in these activities, (ii) the negligence or other acts, whether directly connected to these activities or not, and however caused, by any Release, or (iii) the condition of the premises where these activities occur, whether or not I am then participating in the activities.

I also agree that I, my assignees, heirs, guardians, next of kin, spouse and legal representatives will not make a claim against, sue, or attach the property of any Release in connection with any of the matters covered by the foregoing release.

If Signed by Parent or Guardian: I verify that the dangers of the activities and the significance of this Release and Waiver were explained to the Participant and that the Participant understood them.

Privacy Statement

Lion’s Heart is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience. This Statement of Privacy applies to the Lion’s Heart website and governs data collection and usage. By using the Lion’s Heart website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Use of your Personal Information

Lion’s Heart collects and uses your personal information to operate the Lion’s Heart website and deliver the services you have requested. Lion’s Heart also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of Lion’s Heart business, including, but not limited to volunteer opportunities.

Lion’s Heart does not sell, rent or lease its Member lists to third parties. Lion’s Heart does not use or disclose sensitive personal information, such as race, religion, or political affiliations. Lion’s Heart’s website will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Lion’s Heart or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Lion’s Heart; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Lion’s Heart, or the public.

Use of Photographs of Members

Lion's Heart uses photographs and videos of our Members for marketing, promotional and website uses. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you are authorizing the use of these videos and photos. Lion's Heart rarely uses first names, and never provides last names of our Members when using these photos. Independent from Lion's Heart, newspapers and outside entities may take photographs and videos of Lion's Heart Members, which is completely out of Lion's Heart control and Lion's Heart takes no responsibilities for videos and/or photographs taken and controlled by outside entities.

Use of Cookies

The Lion’s Heart website uses "cookies" to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize Lion’s Heart pages, or register with Lion’s Heart site or services, a cookie helps Lion’s Heart to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the same Lion’s Heart website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the Lion’s Heart features that you customized.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the Lion’s Heart services or website you visit.

Security of your Personal Information

Lion’s Heart secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Lion’s Heart secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

Changes to this Statement

Lion’s Heart will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy. Lion’s Heart encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how Lion’s Heart is protecting your information.

Contact Information

Lion’s Heart welcomes your comments regarding this Statement of Privacy. If you believe that Lion’s Heart has not adhered to this Statement, please contact Lion’s Heart at founders@lionsheartservice.org. We will use reasonable efforts to promptly determine and remedy the problem.

The Rules Again

Purposely, Lion’s Heart has few rules. However, the following rules are strictly enforced. Please read them carefully.

All hours must be logged onto the website before noon (PST) on April 30th of each year in order to possibly qualify for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. (See “Awards“ and “What is Community Service” on this website.)

Groups are required to schedule six meetings annually. Members will be required to attend 4 of the 6 meetings in order to maintain their group Membership status. Members who do not fulfill this requirement will have their status updated to Individual Member. Group Members have meetings to get to know each other, share ideas, learn Robert’s Rules of Order and plan group service events. Group meetings should avoid school breaks and national holidays. Groups have found that meetings held on Sundays in the late afternoon or early evening have the best attendance. Members usually take turns hosting the meetings, or the Class Coordinator will hold them in his or her own home. It’s also a good idea to hold meetings before or after a service activity.

To renew your membership, login to your account and click on the Membership tab. The renewal dues are due by your anniversary date. (See Refund Policy" for further details.)

Lion's Heart encourages Members to focus on community service activities that involve giving time, attention, and resources. Participation in fundraising activities while representing Lion's Heart is discouraged. No Member shall collect monetary donations. However, Members may volunteer to support fundraising events and activities in other capacities (i.e. welcoming guests, giving a speech, collecting canned goods, passing out water etc.).

Members may transfer to another group in their chapter by contacting their Chapter President. To transfer to another chapter, please contact the Operations Director or Community Manager at info@lionsheartservice.org. It is up to the member to request availability in the group to which they wish to transfer. Neither the Class Coordinator nor the Chapter President will keep track of requests or notify member when an opening is available. Members are allowed 2 group assignments per Lion’s Heart year, which runs May 1 - April 30.
